Once a week Henry attends a speech group at the public school. For two hours he, along with three other children, play and practice their conversational skills over cookies and milk.
When his teacher suggested that I let Henry ride the school bus I was shocked. I couldn't imagine sending him off on his own, but apprently it's what people do, so I signed him up. That's how I make my decisions in life, "Hmm...What shall I do? I know! I'll just do what everyone else does!".
This morning we waited together on the front steps for the little yellow bus. Henry got all shaky and excited when he spotted it coming down our street. "I need to see goodbye to you now, mommy", he said, then he grabbed his Dora backpack and off he went.
As I walked back to the house I realized that I had two blessed hours to myself. Perfect amount of time to go to the gym or unpack my suitcase. Instead I wasted both of those hours poking people on Facebook.
